Sedeveria 'Vanilla Bis' Variegata is a beautifully variegated hybrid between Echeveria derenbergi and Sedum clavatum, combining classic Mexican rosette heritage with modern variegated charm. Compact rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves show a soft pale green base dusted with white farina, overlaid with irregular patches of creamy yellow variegation and red-edged margins in bright light. The variegation makes each plant look a little different, so every rosette feels like a one-off.

In good light, Sedeveria 'Vanilla Bis' Variegata stays tight and chunky, often forming low clumps as it produces offsets around the base. The farina gives a frosted, porcelain look, while also helping the plant cope with strong sun. In the warmer months it sends up slender flowering stems topped with clusters of petite, star-shaped pink blooms that carry a gently sweet scent.

Thanks to its sedum parentage, this sedeveria is tough and drought tolerant, yet the variegated foliage appreciates a little extra care. It suits containers, troughs and mixed succulent arrangements, where its pastel tones and red edging contrast nicely with darker or blue-grey species.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light to soft morning sun; gradually acclimatise to stronger sun for the best red edges and clear variegation.
  • Soil: Use a very free-draining succulent mix with added pumice or perlite.
  • Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the mix to dry before watering again; reduce in cooler months.
  • Temperature: Best in frost-free conditions; move pots under cover on icy nights.
  • Growth: Slow, compact and clumping over time; easily propagated from offsets.

First time customers... Please read our Shipping Guide, in top or bottom menu, before placing your order.

Please Note:

  • All plants are sent bare rooted with no pots and soil, or minimum soil only.
  • Due to the drying process necessary for sending plants through the mail, plants may look slightly different than images shown on our website.
  • Some plants may look wrinkled when they arrive, may be somewhat limp, or soft to the touch. This is normal as they have been dried out for a number of days before shipping to avoid rotting in the mail.
  • Succulents are very hardy plants and they will recover quickly, providing you unpack them as soon as you receive them and follow the simple care instructions included with your order.

If you have any questions or concerns at all, please message us via our Facebook page at John & Norma's Succulents for the fastest response.
