Sedeveria 'Vanilla Bis' Variegata
Sedeveria 'Vanilla Bis' Variegata is the variegated form of Sedeveria 'Vanilla Bis', producing compact rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves patterned with green, cream and yellow variegation. A powdery farina covers the foliage, while pink to red colouring can develop along the leaf margins and tips under stronger light.
Variegated Foliage & Seasonal Colour
Variegation varies naturally between individual plants and even between rosettes on the same plant. Some growth may contain a greater proportion of green, while other sections develop broader cream to yellow areas. Combined with the pale glaucous coating and red-edged margins, this can produce considerable variation in colour across an established cluster.
The farina gives the leaves their soft, frosted appearance and is easily marked by handling, so the foliage is best touched as little as possible. The intensity of the pink and red colouring also varies with light, temperature, watering and the plant's stage of growth.
Compact, Clustering Growth
'Vanilla Bis' Variegata produces offsets and gradually develops into clusters of closely packed rosettes. Variegated growth can be somewhat slower than the regular green form, particularly where individual rosettes contain a high proportion of cream or yellow tissue and therefore less chlorophyll.

Growing Sedeveria 'Vanilla Bis' Variegata
Grow in a free-draining succulent mix with good airflow and plenty of light to maintain compact growth and well-defined variegation. Because the pale areas of the leaves contain less chlorophyll, strongly variegated growth can be more sensitive to sudden changes in light than the regular form. Plants should therefore be acclimatised gradually when moving into substantially stronger sunlight.
Allow the growing medium to dry appropriately between waterings and avoid prolonged wet conditions around the roots. During active growth, appropriate nutrition can help support healthy development, particularly in strongly variegated plants with reduced green tissue.
