Echeveria 'Black Prince', an alluring drought tolerant succulent that is a hybrid offspring of Echeverias affinis and shaviana, This slow-growing plant develops clumps of rosettes, featuring thick, fleshy, almost black leaves that transform into a deep lavender-brown as they mature. The leaves, up to 2.3 cm wide, exhibit a triangular shape, becoming more spatulate, and taper to a hyaline yellow point. Dark red, campanulate flowers bloom in clusters on foliose stalks from late autumn to early winter.
Echeveria 'Black Prince', is relatively easy to care for. It thrives in at least six hours of sunlight a day but should be sheltered from the scorching afternoon sun in summer. Opt for a location that receives ample sun in the morning and shade or dappled light in the afternoon. This plant flourishes under the soak and dry watering method, requiring well-draining soil and fertilization only during the spring and summer with low-nitrogen liquid fertilizer.
Black Prince propagates with ease from offsets, as well as stem and leaf cuttings. This low-maintenance succulent needs only the pruning of dead or dying leaves to maintain its pristine appearance.
Overall, Echeveria 'Black Prince' is a beautiful and unique addition to any succulent collection or garden. Its dark coloring and striking appearance make it a standout plant that is sure to impress.
