Echeveria cuspidata var. Zaragoza is a stunning succulent that exudes an air of frosty elegance. This unique variety boasts compact rosettes of thick, icy blue leaves adorned with a delicate powdery coating, creating a mesmerizing frosted appearance. As its name suggests, this species was discovered near Zaragoza, Spain. It is a small but perfectly formed succulent with tight, glaucous-white rosettes and dark leaf tips, adding a ghostly-white shade to any houseplant collection.
Echeveria cuspidata var. Zaragoza features rosettes of fleshy, pointed leaves that are typically bluish-green or grayish-green. The rosettes can reach a diameter of 15 cm, and the leaves are arranged in a spiral or slightly overlapping pattern. The plant grows in a clumping habit, with multiple rosettes emerging from the base, making it an excellent choice for containers, succulent gardens, or rock gardens.
This variety is relatively low-maintenance and thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. It prefers well-draining soil and can be grown both indoors and outdoors, depending on the climate. In Australia, it's best to provide morning sun and protect it from the intense afternoon heat. During autumn to spring, its foliage is at its brightest, displaying pale blue-green leaves with showy reddish tips.
