Echeveria Emerald Ripple Crest
Echeveria 'Emerald Ripple' Crested is the fasciated form of the compact, clustering cultivar also known as Echeveria 'Ron Evans'. Instead of developing only conventional rosettes, crested plants produce broadened growing points that form dense, irregular fans packed with small fleshy leaves.
Crested Growth & Changing Form
The fasciated growth of 'Emerald Ripple' creates tightly packed masses of foliage that can develop into broad, sculptural crests as the plant matures. Individual sections of a plant may express the crest differently, with some areas forming continuous fans while others produce more recognisable rosette-like growth. This natural variation means the shape and structure continue to change as the plant develops.
For the compact rosette-forming version of this cultivar, see our Echeveria 'Emerald Ripple'.
Green Foliage & Red Tips
The leaves are fleshy and predominantly green during active growth, with red to pink colouring developing toward the pointed tips. Stronger light and seasonal stress can bring out warmer pink, peach and reddish tones across the foliage, while well-watered plants in active growth generally show more green.
Because a crest produces many closely spaced growing points, the leaves can vary considerably in size and orientation across the same plant. This dense, irregular growth is characteristic of fasciation rather than the evenly arranged rosettes of the normal form.
Growing Echeveria 'Emerald Ripple' Crested
Grow in a free-draining succulent mix with good airflow and plenty of light. The plant can grow successfully under somewhat softer conditions, but providing as much light as it can safely tolerate encourages denser, sturdier crested growth and stronger colour. Plants should be acclimatised gradually when moved into substantially stronger sunlight.
As with most crested succulents, 'Emerald Ripple' is best grown slowly rather than pushed into rapid growth. Water conservatively, allowing the growing medium to dry well between waterings, and avoid heavy feeding. If fertiliser is required, use it sparingly and preferably at a low concentration. Excessive water or nitrogen-rich feeding can encourage soft, overly vigorous growth, resulting in a larger, less compact crest that can become increasingly difficult for the underlying growth to support. Strong appropriate light, restrained watering and minimal feeding will generally produce a firmer, more attractive crest.

Succulents naturally change in colour, size and form throughout the year. Many develop richer colours and more compact growth during periods of seasonal stress, particularly through cooler months and brighter conditions, while warmer or lower-light conditions may produce greener, softer growth.
The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.
Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
