Echeveria multicaulis 'Lipstick' is a charming succulent that originates from Mexico, specifically in the states of Guerrero and Michoacán. This plant is a stunner, with naked stems that branch out from the base and grow up to 30 cm long. At the top of the stems are fleshy, shiny dark green leaves with reddish margins and tips that can develop burgundy red to brown tones as the plant ages. The leaves are obovate-cuneate in shape, ending in a short sharp point, and can grow up to 5 cm long and 3 cm wide.
This lovely succulent is named 'Lipstick' because of the reddish hue of its leaves, which resembles lipstick the way it appears applied. With proper care, Echeveria multicaulis 'Lipstick' can grow up to 30 cm tall and is happy in either a full sun or part shade position. To keep this plant healthy, make sure to water it well when the soil is dry, especially during summer, but reduce watering in winter. It's essential never to allow it to sit in water, so planting it in well-draining soil is a must.
Echeveria multicaulis 'Lipstick' is best suited to warmer climates and is hardy in Australia, where it can be grown outdoors in most areas, except for regions with severe frosts. It thrives in well-draining soil and is well-suited to pots, rockeries, or as a feature plant in a succulent garden.
